Kesha covering Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” gets me every single time.  Listening to her getting emotional and crying as she’s singing….MY HEART.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Kesha.  Fucking. Love. Her.

this are the related tags if you search Kesha on Tumblr rn which means people are trigger warning posts in large numbers

I literally had to turn off blacklist to see anything in the tag

Tumblr folks (and fans of pop music that no one takes seriously at that) are looking out for each other and creating safe spaces and being the exact opposite of this whole clusterfuck and of the victim blaming culture and it makes me feel a bit better <3

Feminism in action. [TW for rape, emotional abuse, sexual assault, drug abuse]

Kesha is suing longtime producer Dr. Luke for emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Kesha is looking to be freed of her contract with the producer.

"This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke," Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, tells Billboard via a statement. "The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time."

The most harrowing allegation is probably the following: “After forcing Ms. Sebert to drink with him, Dr. Luke instructed Ms. Sebert to take what he described as ‘sober pills’ in order for her to sober up. Ms. Sebert took the pills and woke up the following afternoon, naked in Dr. Luke’s bed, sore and sick, with no memory of how she got there. Ms. Sebert later learned that the ‘sober pills’ Dr. Luke had given her were [gamma-hydroxybutyrate] more commonly known as the date rape drug, allowing him to bring Ms. Sebert back to his hotel room alone and rape her while she was unconscious.” x

Had expected to see misogyny, slut-shaming, victim blaming, jokes being made at her expense, cries of “she’s lying” “she was asking for it” “innocent until proven guilty” in the Facebook article comments - and though it had its fair share, what was a silver lining to a dark grim cloud was the number of people rushing to defend Kesha, which far outweighed the number of people trying to incriminate her as the guilty party.

While some people will try anything to defame, derail and silence the voice of women, you can’t silence someone when there are thousands of others who are all shouting back behind them. Kesha is passionate about feminism and I’m sure she would find it heartwarming to see so many people supporting her during this no-doubt painful, scary, and stressful moment in her life. Hopefully people will realise what an abhorrent, predatory shitbag Dr Luke truly is and this beautiful young woman can be free from a man that has abused her for over a third of her life #StayStrongKesha
